Freestyle & Slalom Skates

Roller skates for freestyle & slalom roller skating

Freestyle and slalom roller skating can generally be done with almost any pair of roller skates.

However, for slalom skating, we recommend models with an adjustable stopper or jam plug, as a permanently installed, non-adjustable stopper can get in the way with many tricks.

Some tricks, such as the pivot spin, are ideal for initiating a clean change of direction in slalom roller skating. A stopper or jam plug is required for such elements.

Below you will find all the roller skates in our range that we recommend for freestyle and slalom roller skating.

Kids' Roller Skates & Quad Skates

Roller skates for children and growing feet

Our roller skates for children are not specifically designed for freestyle or slalom roller skating, but can certainly be used for that purpose.

Most roller skates specially developed for children do not have an adjustable stopper, but rather a fixed stopper height. This can be a hindrance with some slalom tricks.

Nevertheless, we recommend the following models for children, not only for getting started with slalom roller skating, but also for safely learning the first and subsequent steps on roller skates.

Some of our children's roller skates are also size-adjustable and cover several shoe sizes at once. This means they effectively "grow" with the child and ensure long-lasting enjoyment.

Success and fun in slalom roller skating

Cones, cones, toe stops and accessories for freestyle slalom roller skating

Cones, also known as cones or little cones, are absolutely essential for slalom roller skating. They form the basis for technique training, line choice, and clean footwork. For basic training, a row of 20 cones is sufficient to systematically practice initial figures, turns, and transitions.

However, if you want to practice slalom roller skating more intensively and further develop your technique, we recommend a complete setup with a total of 54 cones. This is based on the classic slalom distances and allows you to cleanly practice all difficulty levels and figures.

In slalom roller skating, there are three different cone rows:

  • A row of 20 cones spaced 50 cm apart
  • A row of 20 cones spaced 80 cm apart (main row)
  • A row of 14 cones spaced 120 cm apart

With this complete slalom setup, you can structure your training, work on technique, flow, and control, and take your skills to the next level step by step.

In addition to cones, we also offer, for example, toe guards for your roller skates, which protect the front area of the skate from wear and tear, as well as other practical accessories.

Casters & LED illuminated casters

Wheels & LED Light-up Wheels for Slalom Skateboard Skating

To ensure you are perfectly equipped for any surface and a wide variety of ground conditions, you will find a large selection of roller skate wheels in our range: soft and hard wheels, smaller and larger diameters, as well as LED and light-up wheels.

Light-up and LED wheels not only look stylish and are simply fun – they also offer an additional safety aspect, especially when you are out in the evening or in the dark.

Note: The smaller and rounder the wheels are, the more agile and maneuverable you will be. The larger the wheels, the higher your potential speed.

Smaller wheels are primarily suitable for advanced slalom roller skaters, while larger wheels are usually the better choice for beginners.

Why? Beginners often find it difficult to get rolling without an extra push. Since larger wheels pick up speed more easily and maintain it longer, they make starting easier and ensure a more pleasant riding experience.
