A sunny winter day

110 mm Urban Inline Skating by Marcel Kebekus

In the video "A Sunny Winter Day – 110 mm Urban Inline Skating," we see SkaMiDan team rider Marcel Kebekus convert his USD Sway inline skates into urban inline skates, first hitting a skatepark and then exploring the city.

Thanks to the USD Sway Soulplates on the USD Sway skates, he can grind despite the large 3x110 mm wheels, and he puts this to the test right away.
After testing out grinds at the skatepark, he heads into the city. There, he cruises through shopping arcades, jumps over walls and trash cans, and lets his creativity run wild.

Freeride & Urban Inline Skates

Inline skates for freeride & urban inline skating

Freeride & Urban Inline Skates are specially designed for skating in urban environments, meaning skating through the city, as well as for versatile use on asphalt. With Urban Inline Skates, you will feel just as comfortable on bike paths, streets, parking lots, and rough city surfaces as you will on longer distances or steeper descents.

Thanks to their robust construction, more stable frames, and usually larger wheels, these skates offer a high level of control, smooth gliding, and cushioning – even on uneven surfaces or poor-quality asphalt. At the same time, they ensure efficient rolling, good power transfer, and a safe riding experience at higher speeds.

Freeride and Urban Skates are ideal for sporty fitness skating, daily commuting, or demanding city sessions with tricks, such as jumping off walls, skating down stairs, skating on pump tracks, and much more.

This makes Freeride & Urban Inline Skates the perfect choice for anyone who wants to skate flexibly or safely perform action-packed tricks on streets and paved paths while placing importance on stability, comfort, and versatility.

Kids' Freeride & Urban Skates

Freeride & Urban Inline Skates for Kids and Growing Feet

Our range of freeride and urban inline skates for children and young people offers young skaters the ideal way to playfully conquer the city and gain their first experiences in the versatile world of urban skating.

Children learn particularly quickly and rapidly develop a good sense of balance, control, and speed. Whether cruising safely through the park, on the way to school, or overcoming small obstacles such as curbs, ramps, or slopes – every step forward makes them proud and builds their confidence. These experiences of success have an impact far beyond skating and promote courage, independence, and confidence in movement in everyday life.

With our size-adjustable freeride and urban inline skates, children and teenagers can get off to a great start from the very beginning. The skates grow with them, can be used over several seasons, and always provide the necessary stability, comfort, and control for skating in the city.

Freeride & Urban Frame

Trucks and frames for freeride & urban inline skating

Can't find the right freeride or urban inline skates for your needs? Is your favorite skate not available with your desired setup, or do you already have a pair of inline skates that fit perfectly and you don't want to give up?

No worries: With the wide selection of urban and freeride frames (also known as rails or bases), you can easily convert the skates you already own into an agile, robust setup for the city, streets, and rougher surfaces.

Whether for longer urban sessions, stairs, rough asphalt sections, or fast cruising through the city – the right frame gives your skates more stability, control, and versatility without having to buy new boots.

All your inline skates need to have is one of the common frame mounting systems:

  • 165 mm Dual Point Mounting
(common with urban, freestyle, and fitness inline skates)
  • UFS Mounting
(classic for aggressive inline skates, increasingly also in the freeride area)
  • Trinity Mounting
(common with modern urban and freeride inline skates from, e.g., Powerslide)
  • ACT Interlink
(flexible multi-mount system from Powerslide or Iqon)

This way, you can keep riding your favorite skates and optimally adapt them to your needs or favorite spot with the right urban or freeride frame.

Protectors

Protective gear for freeride & urban inline skating

The right protective equipment plays a central role in freeride and urban inline skating. It not only protects you from injuries, but above all gives you more confidence and self-assurance – especially in dense city traffic, on rough asphalt, in wet conditions, on stairs, when performing tricks on different obstacles, or at confusing spots.

With targeted prevention and reliable protection, you can skate regularly, avoid unnecessary breaks from skating, and continue to skate and practice consistently. This pays off especially in the city and its hustle and bustle: Every session improves your riding feel, control, and ability to react to obstacles, changing surfaces, and unforeseen events.

The extra confidence that good protective gear gives you helps you tackle new lines, descents, or tight passages more calmly. You become more confident faster, dare to tackle more challenging spots, and have more fun skating overall – whether cruising through the city or doing intensive freeride tricks.

For freeride and urban inline skating, we generally recommend all our protective gear, provided it suits your own skating style and the associated demands:

  • Helmet (please always wear a skate helmet)
  • Elbow pads
  • Knee pads
  • Shin guards (often not practical depending on your skating style)
  • Protective pants
  • Upper body protection (useful for large gaps and jumps from stairs several meters high)

With the right protective equipment, you are optimally prepared to enjoy urban and freeride inline skating safely, in control, and with maximum enjoyment.
